HeatherDB / v0.5.1

Exact write activation. Faster nearest-location scans.

Writes activate their exact nearest locations, with an f32 scan for finding those locations.

Fixed

Writes now activate their exact nearest locations rather than the locations selected by graph search. This changes the write path; the change is documented in the original fix.

Improved

Nearest-location discovery during writes uses an f32 scan. See the implementation. This entry makes no latency or throughput claim; use measurements from the relevant version and workload.

Installation and compatibility

This is a historical 0.x release. Its original release announcement does not specify an upgrade or storage-format compatibility guarantee. Check the source and test against disposable data before replacing an existing deployment.

The current downloads page follows the latest stable release automatically. To install this particular version, use its versioned binaries below.

For Debian and Ubuntu on amd64:

sh
curl -fsSLO https://github.com/aphorion/heatherdb/releases/download/v0.5.1/heatherdb_0.5.1_amd64.deb
sudo apt install ./heatherdb_0.5.1_amd64.deb

Known installation limits

The macOS binaries are unsigned. The original release instructs users to clear the quarantine attribute before the first run:

sh
xattr -d com.apple.quarantine ./heather
